Thank you for your interest in membership with Goldsboro Volunteer Fire Company. Becoming a member of our volunteer organization will bring you great satisfaction, excitement, and allow you to create life long friendships. Serious commitment, determination, and dedication are required to be a member of this department. The decision to join should not be taken lightly.

If you should decide that you are seriously interested in becoming a member of our department, please review the membership requirements and complete an application for membership.   All training that you receive is paid for by the State of Maryland. Most training is conducted at the regional training facility or in-house. There are also out of state training opportunities, conferences, and seminars available. Some courses can be converted to college credits.
  All equipment and safety gear needed to perform department duties is provided. Fire and/or EMS gear is fitted and assigned to each individual member. Safety is a top priority and we ensure that each member is properly protected.
  As a member of the Goldsboro Volunteer Fire Company you are eligible for Workman’s Compensation at no cost to you. Workman’s Compensation will cover immediate expenses and medical coverage in the event you are injured at a company alarm or function.
 

The State of Maryland Length of Service Award provides the benefit of an exemption on your personal income taxes for volunteer fire or EMS services provided. To be eligible for this reward ($7,000 per individual) you must have been an active member of the department for 36 months and have a total of 50 points. Points are awarded based on your participation during calls, drills, training, fundraisers, work details, etc. each calendar year.
