Busy day in the HUB - one in town, two in Henderson

First run of the day came out as a smoke investigation. E703 responded under the command of Chief Engineer Wayne Durham with a crew of four. After some investigation, the crew found a small working fire near the outbuilding at 106 Maple Ave. Fire was knocked with a cross lay and minimal water. Asst. Chief David Wothers and Chief J.T. Bartz arrived POV. During this call Caroline EOC advised Chief Bartz of another fire in the first due. E703 crewed dropped the hoseline and responded to the second alarm. Chief Bartz responded POV. Enroute Chief Bartz upgraded the call to a full box assignment. B705 responded under the command of 717 (D. Wothers). 715 arrived and assumed Bee Tree Road command with a working field fire threatening a house. B705 arrived and attacked the head of the fire. E703 arrived at the exposure and extinguished the fires threatening. B56 (Marydel) arrived and helped B705 with containment. E702 responded with 4 and arrived and set up a fill site for brush trucks. T56 arrived and hooked into E702. B602 (Greensboro VFC)arrived and assisted with mop up. E603 arrived and assisted with clean up. B403 (Ridgely VFC) arrived. This unit used its spray bar and continued with mop up. T406 supplied E703. Situation was placed under control holding all units awaiting a forestery unit. All equipment cleared and returned to service. While 715 was awaiting forestery, Stations 56 and 700 were alerted for another fire in the town of Henderson. Due to the location ,715 responded POV and arrived within a minute to find one pickup fully involved with extension to a field. Station 56 (Marydel) was on a working alarm in Delaware, so 715 assumed command. B705 responded with three, officer 717 (D. Wothers). Command sent B705 up the lane to protect the house and outbuildings. Due the high winds, command requested 2nd and 3rd alarms. E703 responded with a crew of 5 under direction of 721 (J. Reed). Their assignment was to have personnel in SCBA and attack the truck fire. After approx. one and half hours, the situation was placed under control holding all units for clean up.
