The Start of a Busy Evening... - Steele Road near Lentz Road

At 1709 hours, the first of what would be 4 calls in a 7 hour time frame was dispatched when volunteers from The Hub responded to a MVC with rollover in the 7-8 box on Steele Road east of Lentz Road. Brush 705 (715/JT Bartz) arrived to find two vehicles involved, one of which was on its side in the roadway. Command was established by Chief Bartz. Paramedic 17 (Ben Wilson/P. Holland) arrived and began treatment on the lone patient, the self-extricated driver of the overturned vehicle. Engine 702 (716/B. Cahall) and Engine 703 (719/R. Dixon) arrived and assisted with the clean up of debris and a small fluid leak. The patient was transported priorty 3 to Kent General Hospital in Dover, DE. Preliminary information indicated that the overturned vehicle was struck in the side by another vehicle attempting to enter Steele Road from a private driveway. The scene was turned over to the Maryland State Police for investigation. Units were in service for approximately 45 minutes.
