At 1634 hours, Station 700 was alerted for the second time in 3 days to transfer an engine to Queen Anne's County Station 5 - Church Hill while they assisted on a working incident in Kent County, MD. Engine 702 with a crew of 4 (715-JT Bartz) made the trip west across Route 301. Minutes after arriving on the Hilltop, Station 5 was alerted for a MVC at the intersection of Church Hill Road and Main Street. Engine 702 arrived shortly after dispatch to find two vehicles involved in a "t-bone" collision with entrapment. Chief Bartz established Church Hill Road command and closed the roadway. Engine 702 placed a hand line and it's Hurst Tool into service to extricate an adult and a pediatric patient from a Geo Tracker SUV that had significant damage/intrusion on the driver's side of the vehicle. The crew from Church Hill's Engine 52 also put a set of cutters into service to assist with the extrication. The two patients from the SUV were transported by Paramedic 4 (Centreville-Goodwill VFC) to Chester River Medical Center with minor injuries. QA County Paramedic 600 handled patient care for the self-extricated driver of the Chevy Cavalier, who was also transported to CRMC with minor injuries. Units worked for approximately 45 minutes before clearing and turning the scene over to MSP for investigation.
